Last year, I set aside my good sense and committed to abseiling down the QV1 building to raise much-needed funds for Rebound WA; a registered Charity which provides social, recreational and sporting opportunities for children and adults with a physical disability.
This year, I've agreed to jump out of a perfectly good plane for absolutely no reason.
Alongside me will be three Rebound WA members who have overcome setbacks associated with amputation to rebound in life.
This Charity receives very little funding from the government, so right from the outset, I thank you for making a difference to the children and adults Rebound WA helps.
The Challenge will force me to confront my fears by jumping out of a plane at 14,000ft. As many of you know, I am not one for excitement. I haven’t agreed to a skydive lightly, and am committed to making this jump count for Rebound WA.
Thank you once again for making a difference to the lives of so many.
Here are some of the ways in which your generous donation can make a difference:
• $50 – Introduce one person living with a physical disability to the world of accessible activities through a hospital visit.
• $100 – Enrol one child with a physical or neurological disability into a full term’s worth of junior activities and life-skills workshops.
• $200 – Gift one junior member with the opportunity to attend a recreational camp for a weekend.
• $5000 – Launch a Rebound member’s activity, with a brand new wheelchair adapted to basketball, rugby or hand-cycling.
